If you’re searching for a drama that ticks all the boxes – Twenty-Five Twenty-One is the one for you. The coming-of-age drama follows the trials and tribulations of a group of friends Baek Yi-jin (Nam Joo-hyuk), Na Hee-do (Kim Tae-ri), Go Yoo-rim (Bona), Moon Ji-woong (Choi Hyun-wook) and Ji Seung-wan (Lee Joo-myung) as they complete their schooling and enter adulthood. The story begins with Na Hee-do, an aspiring fencer who is determined to realise her dream of competing against gold medallist Yoo-rim and winning a medal of her own. She meets up with Ye-jin who is the eldest son of a wealthy family that have lost everything due to the IMF crisis and the two form a close bond. Ye-jin goes on to become a sports reporter and closely follows her career as his develops in parallel. Yoo-rim faces her own challenges as her family is plunged into debt and she is forced to make a difficult decision. It is a beautifully timed, well-executed, funny and poignant story that shouldn’t be missed.
